Getting sick from eating contaminated food is more common than we used to think. An estimated 1 in 8 people, approximately 4 million Canadians, get unwell each year from eating expired dishes. And over 11,500 hospitalizations and 240 deaths occur each year due to food-related illnesses.
The good news is the majority of people get better on their own without medical treatment. But can we prevent food poisoning and decrease those numbers? The answer is YES and we are proud to introduce our new venture.
We want to enrich the daily experience of our customers through the nourishing qualities of the food and provide the information required to make informed buying decisions.
We believe that implementing the QR Code will benefit our clients and provide ease with storing ordered produce, avoiding eating allergen food by mistake and increase consumers’ awareness.
The founders are energetic, creative entrepreneurs with strong problem-solving skills and love for cooking, bringing their expertise and talents to achieve success in the new business venture.
We at FoodCODE Club work with great care of our customers and see the food as a nutritional source and a boost for our bodies. Our main concern is food safety and ensuring that customers consume freshly-made and nutritionally well-balanced food. We take pride in our business and want our patrons to enjoy every bite of their meals!
The decision to create a new way of eating, storing food came as a result of our hard work to improve the quality and the taste of products to preserve the freshness of it.
We implemented the Smart-QR Code solution to our meals and enable customers to track nutritional information and more by scanning with their smartphones. The idea behind it is very mindful and well-timed.
Unlike a standard QR Code, the Smart-QR Code allows changes or updates into the online content connected to a single QR Code. For example: when the client customizes their order, his/her dish will reflect all the updates and present food profile, nutritional value, produce date, and recommended time to consume. Our platform also includes a visualization feature, client preference profile, and the ‘order again” option. A Smart-QR Code will be printed on every order reflecting clients’ substitutions or allergy needs.
